ABOUT THE WORK
Who is Jeff Dillon Fine Art?
Jeff Dillon Fine Art represents my original paintings and limited edition prints, created and released directly from my studio. My work focuses on gesture, colour, and the experience of light rather than photographic realism. Every piece is created with archival material with the highest quality and with long-term stewardship in mind and intended to be lived with and enjoyed over time. Learn More
LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
How do limited edition prints work?
Each limited edition is tied to a specific original painting, not to an individual size. A predetermined number of prints are produced for that work, and once the edition is complete, it is permanently closed. Prints are produced individually at the time an order is placed, allowing each piece to be carefully prepared, inspected, and documented.
Are prints made in advance?
Limited edition prints are produced individually after an order is placed. Each print is created to order as part of a controlled edition, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and long-term quality across the entire series.
Are the images cropped or altered for different sizes?
All limited edition prints are produced using the same proportions as the original painting. The original ratio and composition are preserved across all sizes, resulting in true scaled reproductions that remain faithful to the artwork as it was created.
MATERIALS & FINISHES
What print materials are available?
Limited edition prints are available on Museum Fine Art Paper, Canvas (rolled or stretched), and Gloss Metal. Each material offers a distinct look and feel, while maintaining fidelity to the original painting through high-resolution, colour-accurate reproduction.
What are fine art giclée prints?
Giclée (pronounced zhee-klay) refers to a high-resolution fine art printing process that uses pigment-based archival inks. This process captures colour, tonal depth, and fine detail with exceptional accuracy and longevity. Subtle variations in brushwork or surface detail visible in the print reflect the character of the original painting and are considered part of its visual integrity.
Do prints include texture or embellishment?
No textural embellishments are added. Any texture present comes from the original painting itself or the natural surface of the chosen material.
What do the edges of the print look like?
Canvas prints are finished with a clean black edge rather than a wrapped image. This presentation keeps the full composition visible on the face of the print and offers a refined, gallery-ready appearance that works well framed or unframed.
How are prints delivered?
Paper prints and rolled canvas prints are shipped rolled in protective tubes and require framing upon arrival. Stretched canvas arrives ready to hang. Metal prints include appropriate mounting hardware and arrive fully prepared for display.
CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY
Do prints and originals include a Certificate of Authenticity?
Yes. Every original painting and limited edition print includes a signed and numbered Certificate of Authenticity. This certificate documents the artwork’s title, edition number, materials, and provenance, and is intended to support long-term value, resale, or appraisal. Learn More

The Fine Art Print Sample Pack allows you to experience the materials firsthand before committing to a purchase. It includes samples of Museum Fine Art Paper, Canvas, and Gloss Metal featuring painting #246 “Northern Light Magic.”
Why would I choose a sample pack?
Many collectors find this helpful when planning larger purchases, selecting multiple works, or simply wanting to feel confident in their choice. The sample pack is shipped worldwide at no cost.

Original paintings ship free within Canada. International orders may be subject to customs or import fees determined by the destination country.

Are customs fees included in my order?
Customs duties, taxes, or import charges are not included in the purchase price and are separate from the complimentary shipping offered for orders delivered within Canada and the United States. While shipping is free to these regions, any customs fees charged by the United States government are the responsibility of the recipient. For orders shipped outside Canada and the United States, both shipping charges and any customs or import fees set by the destination country will apply. All artwork and limited edition prints are custom made to order and are not eligible for refunds. If customs fees are not paid and a shipment is refused or cannot be delivered, the order will not be refunded.
Will I have to pay customs fees if I live in the United States?
Yes, it is possible. Recent changes by U.S. Customs and Border Protection mean that shipments entering the United States may be assessed duties or clearance fees regardless of the purchase amount. Carriers such as UPS or FedEx may collect these charges on behalf of U.S. Customs before delivery.
What about other international destinations?
Orders shipped to countries outside of Canada and the United States, including the European Union, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, may also be subject to local customs duties or taxes based on each country’s regulations.
How can I find out the exact fees?
If you are unsure about your country’s import rules, contacting your local customs office will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.
RETURNS & REFUNDS
Are returns accepted?
Because each artwork is produced specifically for the collector who orders it and documented with a Certificate of Authenticity, all sales are final.
What if my order arrives damaged?
If your artwork arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, please contact me as soon as reasonably possible and include clear photographs of the artwork and all packaging materials so the situation can be reviewed and resolved appropriately.
Can I request a price adjustment?
If an item you purchased goes on sale within seven (7) days of your order date, you may request a one-time price adjustment. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to contact Jeff Dillon Fine Art within seven days and provide a copy of the original invoice as proof of purchase. Price adjustments are based on the amount actually paid at checkout. Approved adjustments are refunded to the original method of payment and typically appear within three to five business days.

PRIVACY & SECURITY
Is my personal information secure?
Yes. Your personal information is used only to process orders, provide updates, and maintain communication related to your purchase. It is never sold or used outside those purposes.

COMMISSIONS
Do you accept commissioned paintings?
Yes. I accept a limited number of commissions each year., but commissions can be booked over multiple years. Commissioned works are created in my established style and approach, with the goal of producing a piece that feels cohesive within my broader body of work while reflecting the intended setting or personal meaning behind the request.
How does the commission process begin?
The process begins with an inquiry, followed by a discussion to clarify size, orientation, colour direction, subject matter, and timing. Once these details are agreed upon, a formal quote is provided. Quotes remain valid for 30 days.
How is pricing determined?
Commission pricing is based on the size of the painting, and destination. All pricing is confirmed in advance before work begins. I do not charge more for commissions versus other completed original work.
Is a deposit required?
Yes. A 50% deposit is required before starting a commission. This secures the project in my schedule and allows work to begin.
How long does a commission take to complete?
Most commissions require a minimum of 30 days to complete. Timelines may vary depending on size, complexity, and current studio commitments. Estimated completion timelines are discussed prior to confirming the commission.
Will I be involved throughout the painting process?
Commissions are created with trust in the artistic process rather than step-by-step approvals. The work is developed independently to ensure consistency with my artistic voice and standards.
What happens if I decide not to proceed once the painting is complete?
If you choose not to proceed after completion, the initial deposit is retained and the painting remains with me. The deposit reflects the time, materials, and creative commitment involved in producing the work.
Are commissioned paintings returnable?
Commissioned original paintings are considered final sale and are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange once completed.
CERTAINTY & CARE
Are there natural variations or imperfections?
Fine art materials, particularly canvas and paper, may show subtle variations that are inherent to their construction. These characteristics are considered part of the material’s authenticity and are consistent with museum-quality standards.
