About the Painting
The mighty bear wanders her damp spring environment, in constant surveillance of her cubs and surroundings. She is camouflaged on her vantage point, smelling, seeing and analyzing her environment. Bears are a solo species and despite their stature, their figures are often indistinguishable amongst the backdrop of a forest or river. Fluid washes of grey, yellow ochre, green-gold, and phthalo green throughout the painting in still the feeling of a mossy, damp, earthy environment.
