About the Painting
Here we see a northern pygmy owl. Their petite silhouette appears very soft, and their head and torso plumage gives an orb like appearance to their body. Their rectangular tail feathers are the only deviation from this precious round appearance. The ochre brown hued pygmy owl is sitting on a low branch within a coniferous tree forest, as these owls prefer to sit at eye level. Daylight is piercing through the dense cobalt green forest canopy revealing this sweet little owl.
