About the Painting
Venice, Italy. This painting features a vantage point from one of the city’s residential corridors. The buildings are not as vibrant and decorated as those in the tourist districts but there is still a lively and bright feel to the environment. The colours are more subdued and their pigments have been washed by water, sun and time. The choppy water creates a distorted view of the reflecting buildings.
