About the Painting
After a long winter, we’ve nearly forgotten the sound of spring robins. When they arrive, these jovial birds are intent on letting us know the seasons are indeed changing and contribute their song to the spring orchestra of renewal. This little robin is perched on a branch close to the trunk of a tree, and we are reminded again of how mother nature shares her colours so generously. The tree, branch and robin are rich in warm ochre browns, iron oxide yellows and magenta reds. It is early morning, and the sky is a bright robin’s egg blue.
