Newfoundland dogs are gentle and calculated souls despite their large stature. This peaceful and loving dog has a deep black fuzzy coat which floats around it like a soft aura. Communicating dark layers of texture can lead to a muted finish so instead the dog’s lofty coat is achieved with layers of cool blues and black line. The background mirrors the cool blues, so as not to distract from its face. A flowing sea of colours and fur leads you to the dog’s tender eyes. This piece reminds us that our animals at home are just as majestic as the animals in nature.
