About the Painting
Here we see English Tudor style buildings, accompanied by a stoic church. The facade of the buildings are subtle in their finishes but still detailed. The wood, brick and stone features are understated yet contrast each other in a complimentary way. The red bricks are detailed in delicate layers of colour and brush strokes, while the Tudor style plays up the high contrast of black and white. The church’s stone form has more fluid lines within its architecture and is detailed in an earthy tint of slate grey.
