#222 – Timeless Waves

This piece depicts a mill and a small dam. While this painting was completed on a smaller canvas, there is plenty of engaging and emotive detail for the eye to study. The water seems almost motionless except for the subtle waves caused by the water falling over the dam. The reflection ripples softly; the image looks as though it was pulled across the water like delicate fabric. To add dimension to this detailed composition, highlights were carefully added to the canvas using pigments such as nickel azo yellow, cobalt blue, and sap green hue.
