About the Painting
When we’re in the forest, we realize our size in comparison to the far reaching, developed trunks and woody limbs that surround us. This piece shows the midsection of mature maple trees. Despite the changing leaves, the background still maintains its green lushness. The palette is mostly muted teal and phthalo green, contrasted with strong red and magenta details in the changing leaves. The dappled green and blue background is complemented by soft yellow highlights on the trunk of the trees.
